Apple could rebrand iPhone 15 Pro Max as iPhone 15 Ultra, renders surface online | Digit

Although it has hardly been three months since the launch of the iPhone 14, rumours and speculations about the iPhone 15 are flooding the internet. Previously, we’ve reported that the Pro models in the iPhone 15 lineup will come with a new chip while the non-Pro models will retain Apple’s older SoC. Additionally, features like Dynamic Island and the higher-resolution primary camera will only be limited to the Pro iPhones. Another significant change to the entire lineup could be adopting USB-C ports. However, the Cupertino-based company could release an all-new iPhone 15 Ultra next year. 

Is there going to be an iPhone 15 Ultra?

Yes, you read that right! There’s going to be an iPhone 15 Ultra next year. Well, at least that is what rumours suggest. So there’ll be the regular iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus as entry-level iPhones. However, among the two Pro models, the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be rebranded as the iPhone 15 Ultra. With that out of the way, let’s talk more about the iPhone 15 Ultra. Known publication AppleInsider has published iPhone 15 Ultra’s renders. 

To begin with, the iPhone 15 Ultra could come with a new design by “curving the bottom edge.” Although the sides will remain flat, the part where the sides meet the back panel will be curved. Additionally, iPhone 15 Ultra’s edges are said to be made of Titanium, adding a premium touch to the device. 

While the publication waits for information regarding the smartphone, it expects the camera bump and shape to remain the same as the current iPhone lineup. Another significant change could be the dual front-facing camera on the iPhone 15 Ultra. From what it looks like, the company will try to place the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, a.k.a. iPhone 15 Ultra, differently. 

It is important to remember that the current design language of iPhones was introduced in 2020 when Apple released the iPhone 12 with flat edges. Although it wasn’t a new concept, as Apple had manufactured iPhones with flat edges in the past, the company did not use the same design for many years. Nevertheless, all the iPhones that have come out since, including the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14, have followed the same design approach. If the renders are accurate, the iPhone 15 Ultra could be the first to feature curved edges on the back panel in years.
