Apple Event: MacBook Pro 2021 alleged pictures leaked online – Times of India
Why the notch in new MacBooks
Notch is not new to Apple design. Apple introduced notch to iPhones in 2017 with iPhone X. Since notch has been on iPhones, including the recently launched iPhone 13 series. In fact, the notch has also been embraced by several Android phone makers over the years. Coming to MacBooks, rumours claim that the reason that Apple may go for notch on a Mac display is an aesthetic one. “Apple could choose to minimize the bezel on the top, left and right edges of the upper case. In this case, a display cutout would be needed to accommodate the camera housing, even though Face ID is not present,” says a report in 9to5mac. “The center of a Mac display is often empty because menubar items don’t extend that far out. As the new MacBook Pros are also expected to use mini-LED technology, it is also possible that Apple tints the menubar black on these models to blend in the true blacks of the screen content with the physical notch area,” adds the report. MacRumours has also made concept renders based on notch display leaks.

Likely specification of the new MacBooks
The new MacBook Pros are expected to come in two screen sizes — 14 and 16 inch. They are likely to run on new Apple processors — M1X chips that are said to deliver more CPU and GPU cores. Both the laptops are likely to sport slimmer bezels, mini-LED display and more ports. Rumours also suggest 1080p camera and MagSafe charging for the MacBook Pros.
AirPods 3
Speculations are also high that Apple may launch AirPods 3 at the event. The same was earlier expected to launch at iPhone 13 event held on September 14. Apple AirPOds have not seen an update in almost two years. Latest rumours suggest that AirPod 3 may sport shorter stems for the design (similar to the AirPods Pro). There is no clarity on noise cancellation so far.
