Apple iOS 15.1 releasing today with new features: Everything you need to know – Times of India

Apple is all set to roll out the iOS 15.1 update for eligible iPhones. The update was officially announced last week during the Unleashed event last week where the company launched the new MacBook Pro and AirPods. The update has been in the works for quite some time now and it will be available for iPhone models launched after 2015 and above iPhone 6S. Apart from this, the company is also releasing iPadOS 15.1 and macOS Monterey.
The beta was already released to the public developers for testing purposes. As revealed by the developers, the update brings in the SharPlay feature that was first proposed by the company when the operating system was unveiled at WWDC in June. The feature gives users the ability to stream movies, TV, music and other media using FaceTime. When a user plays media, playback immediately starts for the whole group at the same time. The update will also allow users to record video with Apple’s ProRes codec. As seen in the beta, users will also gain access to the toggle that controls automatic macro mode.
Right after the release, several bugs were reported by iOS 15 users and most of those bugs have been resolved by the company through iOS 15.0.1 and iOS 15.0.2 updates. To install the update, you just have to go to Settings > General > Software Update > Download and install.
Ahead of the launch, the tech giant has already stopped signing codes for iOS 15.0.1. This means that iPhone users with the new iOS 15.0.2 can no longer downgrade. Released this month only, iOS 15.0.2 was focused on fixing several bugs that result in disappearing images, Find My app not showing AirTag, audio apps not running on CarPlay, failing to restore devices and several other issues. The company regularly stops signing legacy codes after a new iOS build is launched.
