Apple iPad 9th-generation vs iPad 8th-generation: How the latest ‘most affordable iPad’ compares to its predecessor
The new Apple iPad is available in both Wi-Fi and Cellular variants and the price starts at Rs 30,900 for the base 64GB Wi-Fi version and Rs 44,900 for the 256GB Wi-Fi variant. The cellular version, on the other hand, costs Rs 42,900 and Rs 56,900 respectively.
Talking about changes from the previous generation, the new iPad is now powered by the Apple A13 Bionic chipset, the same SoC that powers Apple iPhone 11 series.
Another difference is in terms of the camera. The 9th generation iPad now comes with a 12MP ultra-wide front camera sensor compared to 1.2MP in the 8th generation model. The new front camera also supports the Center Stage feature that we have seen in other Apple devices.
Lastly, the display of the new iPad is now a True Tone display that helps boost the overall viewing experience for the users.
Rest everything remains almost similar to the 8th-generation. For your better understanding, we’ve also created a spec-by-spec comparison table. Take a look.
