Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro: Analysts don’t expect ‘substantial’ price hike
The flurry of iPhone 14-related rumours and leaks isn’t going to end till we actually see Apple unveiling its 2022 flagship phones. We are still a week away from Apple’s “Far out” event — scheduled for September 7 — and there are already leaks about camera specs, battery, storage and whatnot. The latest one, however, may just intrigue one and all as it is related to the price.
According to research firm Trend Force, Apple will not increase the prices of the iPhone 14 series substantially. As per the firm, Apple will adopt a more “cautious” approach towards the pricing of the iPhone 14 series. “Upgrades such as initial starting memory capacity increasing to LPDDR5 6GB and 256GB, primary camera moving up to 48 million, Face ID Design changes, etc., are expected to raise starting prices,” noted Trend Force. However, under pressure from rising global inflation and foreign exchange rates, “Apple is expected to adopt a more cautious pricing strategy so as not to affect its sales performance,” adds the report by Trend Force.
Expected prices of iPhone 14 series
Trend Force has actually predicted the increased prices for the iPhone 14 series. According to the company, iPhone 14 will start at $749; iPhone 14 Max will start at $849; iPhone 14 Pro will start at $1,049; and iPhone 14 Pro Max will start at $1,149. If this prediction does turn out to be true then Apple will hike the prices of the iPhone 14 series by $50. Do keep in mind that the Indian pricing may differ quite a bit from this rumoured pricing.
Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has already suggested that the iPhone 14 will cost more. Kuo noted that Foxconn — one of Apple’s biggest supply chain partners — has raised its full-year performance to “growing” from “roughly flat”. In a tweet, Kuo said that the “estimated iPhone 14 series ASP would increase by about 15% (vs. iPhone 13 series ASP) to $1,000-1,050 (USD).”
