Apple iPhone, missing for over a decade, is found inside toilet

According to the U.S. Sun, Maryland’s Becki Beckmann lost her Apple iPhone on the night of Halloween in 2012. It was a complete mystery as Beckmann couldn’t find her handset anywhere. And she hadn’t gone anyplace where the device could have been stolen.

So Beckmann did what most of us would do facing the same scenario; she bought a new phone. According to her Facebook post, Becki “replaced it, moved on, whatever.” She added, “It was mysterious but it was gone.” But the mystery was solved a little more than ten years later when Becki and her husband heard a banging sound when they flushed the toilet.

Beckmann said, “Initially we blamed it on the toilet being old or the house construction being terrible.” But last week, her husband became agitated and eventually decided he would plunge the toilet to see if he could stop the banging noise from continuing.  After spending some time with the plunger in his hands, Becki’s husband discovered the source of the noise and was stunned to find that his wife’s lost iPhone had surfaced from deep inside the toilet’s pipes.

After spending a decade inside the plumbing of a toilet, you’d expect an iPhone to suffer some damage and in this case, the rear panel had separated from the rest of the phone. Comments from Facebook users were mostly incredulous with one writing, “Now how come my glass screen breaks when I even so much as look at it funny but you can literally sh*t on yours for years and it’s perfect?”

Another person stated, “There’s no way it was stuck in your toilet for 10 years and never caused an issue until it started making a sound.” And a third comment read, “How have y’all not had any clogging? My townhouse gets one baby wipe in its pipe and I get all the neighbours sh-t in my laundry room.” Beckmann  received over 700 comments on her Facebook post.

While Beckmann never said which iPhone model she had, the photo shows an iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s.
