Apple is reportedly working on the updated Pro Display XDR and other monitors | Digit

Apple is working on new monitors that will be equipped with the brand’s new silicon chip. One of the monitors it is updating is the Pro Display XDR.

According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is developing new external monitors that will be equipped with the brand’s silicon. One of the offerings will include an updated version of the Apple Pro XDR. The report says that equipping the devices with Apple’s own chips may help it “rely less on resources from the attached computer.” Apple had incorporated the A13 Bionic chip in its Studio Display, which meant that the monitor could offer key features like “Hey Siri”, spatial audio, voice commands, and Center Stage.

Apple Pro Display XDR updates

The Apple Pro Display XDR is equipped with a 32-inch 6K LCD panel that offers 1,600 nits of brightness. It is believed that this monitor will only be launched after the upcoming MacBook Pro.

MacBook Pro updates

The MacBook Pro was speculated to hit markets by now, however, with production relocating to Vietnam, and changes to features, there have been delays in manufacturing. The MacBook Pro is believed to come with an M2 Ultra chip and should offer up to 24 CPU cores and 76 graphics cores. It may support 192GB of memory.

Apple is also reportedly developing an iMac Pro which will have the brand’s silicon chip, however, the same has reportedly “suffered internal delays for similar reasons as the Mac Pro.”
