The Cupertino-based tech giant has already launched a few devices with the latest M2 chipset. Now, the company is reportedly working on new MacBook models that will come powered by more powerful variants of the M2 chip. According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the 14-inch and the 16-inch MacBook Pro models, which will be powered by the M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets, are rumoured to launch in early 2023.
Apple M2 Max and M2 Pro-powered MacBook Pro models: Rumoured launch date
Earlier, Apple was expected to launch new MacBook Pro models before the end of this year. However, these models got delayed due to some internal reasons. As per the report, Apple has fixed the issue that reportedly postponed the launch and is set to launch the devices early in 2023.
The report doesn’t confirm any specific launch date for both MacBook Pro models. However, the new models are expected to arrive by March 2023. Apart from the upgraded chips and faster RAM, these new laptops might not ship with any other major change over the latest models.
Apple M3-powered iMac: Rumoured launch date
Other than the upcoming MacBook Pro models, the company is reportedly working on a new iMac that is expected to come powered by an M3 chipset. This new iMac model is expected to arrive by the end of 2023. The report even claims that Apple is also reportedly working on a new Mac Mini model that will also feature M2 series chips. The launch timeline of the upcoming Mac Mini model remains a mystery.
MacBook Pro: Available models
Apple launched the last 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models that came powered by the M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets in October 2021. These models feature a new design with a display notch at the top centre of the screen. These laptops also support an HDMI port, a MagSafe port, and an SD card reader slot.
