Apple may be betting big on iPhone 14 series, here’s why – Times of India

We have been hearing about the coming iPhone lineup for quite some time now, and Apple has high hopes for the iPhone 14 series. A recent report from Sina Finance suggests that the Cupertino giant expects higher sales for the iPhone 14 series than last year’s iPhone 13 lineup.
As per the report, the iPhone 14 series has entered the trial production phase, with mass production expected to start in August ahead of its expected launch in September. The report claims that Apple has informed its suppliers that the initial sales of the iPhone 14 series would be higher than that of the iPhone 13 series.
iPhone 13 lineup still doing great in terms of sales
Even with the iPhone 14 series around the corner, the sales of the iPhone 13 have been going strong. The demand for current iPhone models tends to slow down once a new lineup is around the corner, but the iPhone 13 shipments were reported to be one-third higher this July than last year.
ET News recently reported that Samsung Display expects to ship 135 million mid and small-sized OLED displays in the third quarter of this year, including panels for Samsung’s Galaxy S22 series and the iPhone 14 lineup. According to the report, around 80 million units would be for the iPhone 14 series, coming out later this year in the third quarter.
The iPhone lineup is expected to be a little different this year. This year’s lineup is expected to compromise four models — iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The two non-Pro iPhone 14 models are said to have the same A15 Bionic chip as the current-generation iPhones, while the Pro ones would get the newer A16 chip. Further, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are expected to have a superior camera setup to the vanilla iPhone 14 duo.
