Apple may bring punch-hole display to iPhone 14, claims report

Tech giant Apple may bring punch-hole display to its upcoming iPhone 14, claimed Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter. It means the exit of notch from the upcoming iPhone, if the punch-hole is indeed going to be incorporated. If everything goes as per schedule, Apple will launch the new iPhone 14 in 2022, as is the usual norm.
An earlier report by TheElec had also claimed that Apple may only remove the notch from the Pro models of the iPhone 14 series. The report further suggested that the company is planning to use a punch hole camera in the iPhone.
While rumours of a punch-hole display (like the one by TheElec) have did rounds earlier too, Gurman’s claim given them a dose of credibility. He also claimed that Apple would launch the M2 chipset for the MacBooks this year, which would be “marginally faster” than the M1.
Speaking of Apple iPhone 14 rumours, the Apple iPhone 14 series smartphones will reportedly sport 48MP primary lens in the rear camera setup, as per an earlier report by Macrumors, based on the claims of analyst Jeff Pu in a research note with Haitong International Securities.
The upcoming Apple iPhone 14 series is expected to include four models – iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. As per the analyst, the two Pro models will feature triple rear camera setup with a 48MP Wide lens, a 12MP Ultra Wide and a Telephoto lenses. He also claimed that the Apple iPhone 14 Pro models will feature 8GB of RAM and that all the models will feature a 120Hz refresh rate display. Similar predictions were shared by known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo earlier this year. He also added that the smartphones will support 8K video recording.
