Apple may debut affordable AirPods and a new AirPods Max

There may be some good news for audiophiles as new Apple AirPods models will reportedly arrive in the next two years. This may please a lot of buyers as rumours suggest that the next-gen AirPods are expected to come at a lower price point than their predecessors.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, a noted Apple analyst, the iPhone maker will start shipping its next-gen audio products by 2024 or 2025. This not only includes the cheaper AirPods but also the 2nd-gen AirPods Max.

Apple may choose aggressive pricing for the next AirPods
The Apple Airpods, which have long been considered by many as the gold standard in the industry, could consolidate that status by offering the premium TWS experience for a comparatively affordable price. As per speculation, this price could be $99, which is $30 less than the cheapest AirPods in the market right now – the 2nd-gen AirPods.
Moreover, Kuo has also shared that the company will switch suppliers for its AirPods, replacing Goertek with Hon Teng (FIT) – a subsidiary of Hon Hai aka Foxconn. Additionally, AirPods Max will be assembled by Hon Teng in tandem with Luxshare ICT.

2nd-gen AirPods Max have been a long time coming
Although Kuo talked about the 4th-gen AirPods, he didn’t have similar information about AirPods Max. Unlike the AirPods – which received an update in 2021 – its over-the-ear counterpart, AirPods Max, hasn’t got a successor since hitting the shelves in 2020. By 2024/2025, it would be high time for the headset to get a new version.
The latest TWS entry from the Silicon Valley firm came out last year. That was when Apple launched AirPods Pro Gen 2. If and when a new AirPods Max arrives, we may get the new H2 chip in the headset that Apple introduced with the 2nd-gen AirPods Pro in 2022.
