Apple may launch a new 15-inch M2-powered MacBook Air in 2023 – Times of India

Apple launched a 13-inch M2-powered MacBook Air laptop in July 2022. Now, the Cupertino-giant is reportedly working on a new 15-inch MacBook Air model that is expected to launch later in 2023. The upcoming laptop is also likely to feature the M2 chip. According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the previously rumoured 12-inch MacBook with Apple silicon that was also expected to come out this year may not launch in 2023.
15-inch MacBook Air with M2: Key highlights
The report has shared a few details about the 15-inch MacBook Air that is expected to feature Apple silicon. This upcoming laptop is expected to have a similar design to the latest 13-inch model. As per the report, the MacBook Air is likely to be available in M2 and M2 Pro chip options.
Apart from this, display analyst Ross Young also claimed last month that the company’s suppliers are likely to start producing 15.5-inch display panels for the upcoming laptop in the first quarter of this year. Recent rumours also suggested that Apple is working on a 15.5-inch MacBook Air that could launch in the spring of 2023.

Apple MacBook Pro laptops are usually sized between 14 to 16 inches. This upcoming laptop may become the largest MacBook Air to date. The 15-inch MacBook Air is even expected to feature an upgraded speaker system, a 1080p camera and a MagSafe charging port.
13-inch MacBook Air with M2: Key specs
The latest MacBook Air sports a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display with True Tone and comes powered by Apple’s latest M2 chipset. This laptop supports a 1080p FaceTime HD camera and a MagSafe 3 charging port. For connectivity, the 13-inch MacBook Air ships with two Thunderbolt ports and two USB 4.0 ports. The laptop also supports Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and is even equipped with a Force Touch trackpad. The M2-powered MacBook Air starts at Rs 1,19,900 and supports 30W USB-C charging.
