Apple may make this big change to AppleCare+ plan – Times of India

iPhone repairs are hefty. Buying an AppleCare+ plan for the device can help reduce the repairing cost. However, the plan must be purchased within 60 days of buying the Apple device. As per a report by MacRumors, Apple may give a second chance to the Apple device owners to opt for AppleCare+ plan.
An internal document obtained by MacRumors shows that customers who had an iPhone or Mac repaired at an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider are now eligible to purchase AppleCare+ for the device. But the condition is that the device must not be more than a year old.
After buying the AppleCare+ plan, customers will not be required to pay the out-of-warranty price for the repair or replacement. For example, the cost of repairing screen for an iPhone 13 Pro Max is $329, while other repairs run $599. With AppleCare+, a screen or back glass repair is just $29, while other repairs cost $99.
Those interested can buy the AppleCare+ after paying the out-of-warranty price. They can then pay the repair fee if any damage occurs in the future for the coverage period.
The policy is reportedly “in effect at Apple Store and Apple Authorised Service Provider locations in all countries and regions where AppleCare+ is available.” This expanded AppleCare+ eligibility is expected to further boost Apple’s services revenue, which hit a record $18.27 billion last quarter.
