Apple has reportedly claimed that the issue is not a hardware-related problem but it is being caused by an iOS bug. The company is expected to offer more details about the issue and may even release a software update to fix the bug. However, the report didn’t mention if the horizontal lines on the display problem are specific to iPhone users in a particular region. In such a scenario, Apple may roll out the fix only for the specific affected region(s).
How is this issue affecting users
iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max users have complained that the horizontal lines that are visible on their screens during startup have been appearing randomly and are also disappearing after a few seconds. Several users have also reported that these lines also appear when the iPhone is waking up. While others mentioned taking their smartphones to Apple Stores to fix the issue. Some users also hinted that this issue is related to the latest iOS 16.2 update and the problem may extend to the previous iOS builds.
As per the report, the horizontal lines issue is not very prevalent, yet it creates concern for multiple users. Some users have also suggested workarounds for others to temporarily fix the issue on Reddit. Many users reported that turning off the AOD resolves the issue for them while others suggested iPhone users manually turn off the handset and reset it. However, a bug-fixing update from Apple’s side seems to be the final solution to this problem.
How Apple has reacted to the issue
The report also claims that an Apple Support representative on Reddit has mentioned that the company is aware of the problem and it is expected to be resolved soon with an upcoming update. Apple’s Reddit statement also adds that this issue is being caused by the drivers and is not related to any hardware.
