Apple may stick with this old plan for iPhone 14 Pro
The Apple iPhone 14 Pro may not start with an increased storage and stay with the 128GB starting storage option only, Haitong International analyst Jeff Pu has said in his latest research note, as per a report by Macrumors. The claim comes in the wake of a TrendForce report that said that the iPhone 14 Pro models could start with an increased 256GB of storage, something which Pu had earlier agreed with.
Now, along with the iPhone 14 Pro, Pu has also added a 128GB tier for the iPhone 14 Pro Max model in his latest note when earlier he had maintained that the iPhone 14 Pro models would start at 256GB. With this switch in prediction, it looks like the iPhone 14 Pro model would offer the same storage capacities as its predecessor, the iPhone 13 Pro, which are 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB.
“Based on our recent supply chain survey, we maintain our iPhone 14 build plan to be 91m in 2H22, vs. iPhone 13’s 84m in 2H21, as there is no significant issue on the supply chain. The next to watch will be iPhone 14’s pricing and the wait-time when it hits the market.
Spec-wise, we add 128GB storage to the Pro line-up.”, notes Pu in the research note.
In another report, TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that the Pro models for this year will be priced higher than those of last year, with the average selling price of the entire iPhone 14 lineup including the lower-end models seeing a jump of about 15% overall.
The other rumoured features of the iPhone 14 Pro are a notchless design featuring a pill-shaped cutout and hole for the earpiece and the front camera, an always-on display, a faster A16 chipset, an improved 48MP rear camera that supports 8K video recording plus new features of the iOS 16 like battery percentage icon and Lock Screen widgets.
