apple: Only Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models to get A16 Bionic chipset, claims analyst – Times of India

Apple launched the new iPhone SE at its first event of 2022 last week. The next major iPhone launch is going to be the iPhone 14 one and tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has a new prediction ready for the entire iPhone 14 series when it comes to the mobile chipset department. He has now claimed that Apple will ship the iPhone 14 Pro models with the A16 Bionic chipset, while keeping the A15 Bionic for the iPhone 14 models, as per a report by Macrumors.
The A15 Bionic is the same chipset that powers the iPhone 13 series, with the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 models getting the four-core GPU, while the iPhone 13 Pro has a five-core GPU.
As per the report, which is based upon a tweet, the “6.1-inch “‌iPhone 14 Pro‌” and the 6.7-inch “‌iPhone 14 Pro‌ Max” will get the A16 chip, while the 6.1-inch “‌iPhone 14‌” and the 6.7-inch “‌iPhone 14‌ Max” will retain the same A15 chip from the ‌iPhone 13‌ lineup.”
If Apple is considering this strategy, it could make more buyers think of opting for a Pro model since the standard iPhone 14 model would be having the same chipset as the iPhone 13 and the phone could only have software or camera upgrades broadly if we leave out the possible design tweaks.
The tech analyst also reportedly added that the entire ‌iPhone 14‌ series could come with 6GB of memory, with the standard ‌iPhone 14‌ models shipping with LPDDR 4X memory and the ‌iPhone 14 Pro‌ models getting the LPDDR 5 memory. As per the report, he also said that the iPhone 14 Pro‌ and ‌iPhone 14 Pro‌ Max’s LPDDR 5 memory will be “up to one and a half times faster and up to 30 per cent more power efficient.”
