Apple planning to release iOS 16.0.3 with bug fixes for iPhone 14 display, CarPlay and more: Report – Times of India

Apple is planning to release an iOS 16.0.3 update for iPhone 14 series of smartphones, a report by macrumors has said. The update will apparently address issues regarding various features including Apple CarPlay and display flickering on some iPhone 14 models as well as bring fixes for the Mailjack bug that causes the Mail app to crash.
Macrumors says that the evidence of an upcoming iOS 16.0.3 software update popped up its analytics logs – a reliable indicator for the publication. It suggests that the update will fix a problem that triggered low volume during CarPlay phone calls placed on the iPhone 14 Pro and display flickering on some iPhone models once they are set to low brightness.

Error displayed on editing Cinematic Mode videos shot on an iPhone in Final Cut Pro and iMovie on the Mac will also be addressed. The update is also expected to bring performance-related optimisations and a fix for the Mailjack bug.
This bug was spotted last month and was identified by Equinux’s VPN Tracker. It reportedly caused the Mail application on iPhone and iPad models running iOS 16 to crash. A report claimed that the bug comes in the form of a harmless, normal-looking looking email from a sender that includes extra characters.
The report notes that there is no information on when Apple plans to release iOS 16.0.3 update but it could be as soon as next week because the iPhone-maker is also set to release iOS 16.1 later this month.
Apple has already fixed various issues with the iOS 16.0.2 update last month. The issues addressed in the last release included the rigorous camera shake when using apps such as Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok. It also fixed a bug which prompted the phone to ask for permission when pasting a copied text. Launched as a security feature, repeated permission seeking became problematic for users.
