Apple set to bring in-person “Today at Apple” sessions for the first time in India: All the details

Back in 2017, Apple introduced “Today at Apple” — a series of hands-on sessions that are held in select cities where artists, photographers, and teachers come and impart lessons. So far Apple had not hosted any Today at Apple sessions. But that’s about to change in 2023 as the first Today at Apple session will be held at the India Art Fair 2023 in New Delhi, starting February 9. Just to be clear, Apple has held digital Today at Apple sessions for the Indian market but at least no in-person events and this will be the first in-person session.

Today at Apple: The first in-person session

At the India Art Fair 2023, there will be a dedicated Digital Residency Hub showcasing artworks made by the three India Art Fair Digital Artists in Residence, all made on iPad Pro and in response to the theme ’Finding the Extraordinary in the Ordinary.’
Today at Apple will offer attendees at the fair hands-on sessions led by three digital artists in residence — along with other creative pros — focusing on digital art skills on iPad to unlock new styles and techniques.
Who are the three artists?
Visual artist and illustrator, Mira Felicia Malhotra will highlight the oddities and idiosyncrasies of Indian family life in vibrant portraits of women titled ‘Loag Kya Kahenge’; artist, poet and writer Gaurav Ogale will invite audiences to explore the extraordinary biographies of ordinary people through an audio-visual book anthology series ‘Bestsellers’; and multidisciplinary artist Varun Desai will create an immersive projection room giving a glimpse of the future, one that fuses artificial intelligence and human consciousness.

What is Today at Apple?

Traditionally held at Apple Stores across the world, Today at Apple are free sessions that aim to focus on specific features of Apple products. For instance, Today at Apple sessions on iPhones could be around photography where users are told in detail — features of the camera and given tips to shoot, edit and do more. Similar sessions are conducted by illustrators, graphic designers, artists for iPad as well.
