In the last one year or so, Zoom and Google Meet have become quite popular with video calls and conferencing becoming the norm. Microsoft and Facebook too have their platforms which have seen many upgrades. However, Apple was conspicuously silent despite having FaceTime. That was till now as with the unveil of iOS 15, Apple is clearly targeting its guns at the likes of Zoom and Google Meet.
With iOS 15 — expected to be available in September — Apple is rolling out a slew of features that puts it in direct competition with Zoom and Google Meet. Here are some of the new features coming to Apple’s FaceTime.

SharePlay: Easier to share content

SharePlay is a new feature that will allow users to share content like music, movies, TV shows with others during a FaceTime call. Users can watch the content together while being on a FaceTime call.

A new Voice Isolation feature is coming to FaceTime. This feature will reduce background noises and make it easier for call recipients to get more clarity during calls. Spatial audio is also coming to FaceTime to give a “conversational” feel to calls.

New video features

FaceTime will get a new Grid View that will allow users to see people in same sized tiles during a call. Grid view will show up to six people’s faces at a one time.
