Apple wants to take on Zoom, Meet with these new features – Times of India
With iOS 15 — expected to be available in September — Apple is rolling out a slew of features that puts it in direct competition with Zoom and Google Meet. Here are some of the new features coming to Apple’s FaceTime.
SharePlay: Easier to share content
SharePlay is a new feature that will allow users to share content like music, movies, TV shows with others during a FaceTime call. Users can watch the content together while being on a FaceTime call.
With SharePlay users will be able to share web pages, apps and more with other call participants. This is a feature that could be helpful for business meetings.
New audio features
A new Voice Isolation feature is coming to FaceTime. This feature will reduce background noises and make it easier for call recipients to get more clarity during calls. Spatial audio is also coming to FaceTime to give a “conversational” feel to calls.
New video features
FaceTime will get a new Grid View that will allow users to see people in same sized tiles during a call. Grid view will show up to six people’s faces at a one time.
Zoom control in FaceTime will allow users to zoom in as and when they need, giving them more control. Apple is also bringing Portrait mode to FaceTime — a feature that will allow users to blur the background during video calls.
