Apple Watch 7 to offer better battery life by using thinner S7 chip – Times of India

Apple is gearing up to launch its next smartwatch– Apple Watch 7 and reports claim that Apple is using a thinner S7 chip to accommodate a bigger battery. Apple is also said to increase the battery life of the Apple Watch Series 7 compared to the Watch Series 6. The new Apple Watch 7 is expected to launch along with the iPhone 13 series around September this year.
The new S7 chip is said to be more powerful and power efficient while being smaller in size. Apple is not letting the extra internet space inside the Watch 7 go to waste. Instead of packing more sensors, Apple has decided to include a bigger battery.
Meanwhile, some rumours in the past have suggested that Apple is working on adding new health features such as blood-sugar sensor or a body temperature sensor in the next Apple Watch. However, according to a latest report by Bloomberg, that has been delayed. While the body temperature sensor is still likely to come in the 2022 model of the Apple Watch Series, the blood-sugar sensor “is unlikely to be ready for commercial launch for several more years.”
Apple may introduce thinner bezels around the display of the Watch Series 7 and make use of a new lamination technique. Having said that Apple may make the Watch Series overall a bit thicker but reports claim that it won’t be noticeable to the user. Another functionality that the Apple Watch Series 7 may come with is ultra-wideband functionality.
There’s a possibility that Apple may launch a new Watch model with a rugged casing. Said to be internally referred to as “Explorer Edition” and is meant for hiking and other outdoor activities.
