Apple working on iOS 16.1.1 update to fix ad-related issues, Wi-Fi bug: Report – Times of India

Apple released the iOS 16.1 update late last month with a set of new capabilities and features. The update also brought several bug fixes for the iPhone. However, some users have been complaining about problems with Wi-Fi connectivity after they updated their iPhones with the latest update. Furthermore, a few advertisers also reported that they are facing issues in knowing the success of their ads. The iPhone maker is said to be working on an iOS 16.1.1 update to fix both of these issues.
iPhone Wi-Fi bug
Various users complained on Twitter and Reddit that they are getting periodic, and sometimes random, disconnects from Wi-Fi after updating to iOS 16.1. They claim that this behaviour is seen throughout the day ‘despite no changes in their environment.’ Some users claimed that their Wi-Fi disconnected when their iPhones were left stationary on standby. A few users even say that they attempted resetting all network settings on their iPhones but in vain.
Ad-related issue on iPhone
With iOS 16.1, Apple released SKAdNetwork 4.0, the company’s advertising framework that enables advertisers to get detailed performance insights. It lets advertisers measure the success of ads based on app installations to specific ad campaigns.
As per the company’s system status page, Apple is preparing an update with a fix for an issue related to its advertising framework SKAdNetwork. The page suggests that the issue began on November 3, is “ongoing” and has affected some users. “There is an issue impacting SKAdNetwork for users on iOS 16.1. We are working to quickly resolve this issue in a software update,” the company said.

App Store Connect
A few users have also posted on the Apple developers’ forum that they are experiencing issues in App Store Connect. The App Store Connect app lets developers monitor their app’s sales and downloads, reply to App Store Review, get notified of new reviews, respond to reviews, and more. Apple says that “it is working to resolve this issue.”
Emergency SOS via Satellite
Reports also suggest that iOS 16.1.1 may also bring support for the Emergency SOS via the Satellite feature on all four iPhone 14 models. The feature allows devices to connect to a satellite enabling users to send text messages to emergency services when they are unable to get cellular and Wi-Fi coverage. Apple is yet to provide a confirmation on the same.
