Apple’s second-gen AirPods Pro are on sale at a surprisingly hefty Prime Early Access discount

If you expected the hot new, highly anticipated, and long overdue AirPods Pro 2 to drop from a list price of $249 to, say, $199 or so this holiday season, you’re probably not very familiar with the way Apple normally conducts its business.

Granted, the holiday shopping season has barely begun, and third-party retailers like Amazon are known for occasionally eclipsing Apple’s generosity, even as far as all-new and exceptionally well-reviewed products are concerned.

Still, it’s hard to believe anyone (major) will be able to beat the 10 percent discount currently offered by the e-commerce giant exclusively for its Prime members anytime soon. This adds close to 16 bucks to the $10 already slashed off the aforementioned regular price of the second-gen AirPods Pro shortly after the official announcement of these upgraded noise-cancelling bad boys.

While saving less than $26 in total is unlikely to bring a lot of extra cheer in your house come Christmas, even that initial $10 markdown felt somewhat unusual for such a deeply attractive new product as the AirPods Pro (2nd Generation).

With vastly improved active noise cancellation over an already impressive rookie effort in that department, as well as an all-new Apple H2 chip promising even smoother connectivity with your favorite iPhone, personalized Spatial Audio technology with dynamic head tracking support, and solid battery life, these are not just probably the best wireless earbuds money can buy right now but almost perfect little headphones to take to the gym, office, school, or around town for the day.
By no means the greatest fall Prime Day deal available at the time of this writing, the AirPods Pro 2’s unprecedented 10 percent price cut should help steer some attention away from the much cheaper Google Pixel Buds Pro or Samsung Galaxy Buds Live, as well as the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, which are surprisingly stuck at their $229.99 MSRP ahead of presumably deep Black Friday and Cyber Monday discounts next month.
