Are you an SBI customer? Beware of this fake SBI Yono SMS doing the rounds
SBI Bank phishing message
SBI customers are receiving a text message that says their ‘Yono’ account will be blocked if they don’t update their PAN number on the given link. For the unaware, Yono is SBI’s digital banking platform. The link in the message portrays to be an SBI page, asking users to enter sensitive information. Hackers gain access to the information if the user enters his/her credentials and can misuse it.
This is a standard-issue phishing attack. Since the phishing attack is dealing with a bank account, we strongly advise you not to click on the link in any case as there are chances your money will be stolen if you click the link and enter any sensitive information.

SBI has acknowledged the phishing message that is being sent to its customers. The state-led bank has mentioned that its IT Security team will initiate appropriate action on it. Furthermore, it has advised customers not to respond to emails/ SMS/ calls/embedded links asking them to share their personal or banking details. Banks usually never ask for any OTP messages or personal information. SBI is asking to report such phishing messages to “[email protected]” or contact helpline number 1930 to take action.
