Asus ROG Phone 5s launched with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+, 144Hz display and 6000mAh battery

Taiwanese smartphone maker Asus has expanded its smartphone lineup with the launch of ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro in India. The smartphones were launched in China last year and now the company has finally announced the smartphones in India.

ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro come as a minor update to their non- ‘s’ versions. As far as changes are concerned, the major difference is in the chipset. The ROG Phone 5s series comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset.

ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro: Price and availability
The company has launched the ROG Phone 5s at a starting price of Rs 49,990 for the base 8GB + 128GB variant. The 12GB + 256GB variant costs Rs 57,999. The ROG Phone 5s Pro, on the other hand, comes in only one configuration of 18GB + 512GB storage and costs Rs 79,999.

Both ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro share similar specifications, design and overall features. The smartphones feature the 6.78-inch FHD+ Samsung E4 AMOLED display. The display supports 144Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch-sampling rate and 1ms response time. In addition to that, it also comes with DC Dimming, HDR 10+, eye protection technology and Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

The ROG Phone 5s Pro also gets a secondary PMOLED screen at the back which shows notifications, battery details and more.

Powering the smartphone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset clocked at 3GHz. The ROG Phone 5s comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage, while the ROG Phone 5s Pro is only available with 18GB RAM and 512GB storage.

The ROG Phone 5s duo comes equipped with the triple rear camera setup featuring a 64MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide sensor and a 5MP macro sensor. At the front, there’s a 24MP selfie shooter. The smartphone can also record up to 8K videos.

ROG Phone 5s series comes with a 6000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging.

As far as gaming features are concerned, the smartphones come with dual front-firing speakers, dual USB Type-C ports, Air Triggers, Armory Crate, customisable performance and more.

The smartphone runs ROG UI based on Android 11 operating system.
