Asus ROG Phone 6 series receives multiple certifications; key specs and expected price tipped – Times of India

Asus is set to expand its gaming smartphone lineup with two new devices under its ROG Phone 6 series on July 5 at events to be held in multiple venues that include — Taipei, Berlin and New York. The handsets in the upcoming series were recently approved by the 3C authority of China with model numbers AI2201_A and AI2201_B, according to a report by GSMArena. Apart from that, one of the devices has also received the TENAA certification and was spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking site as well. The smartphone’s listing on multiple certification sites has revealed some of the key details about the upcoming handset. The report suggests that the revealed specifications might be of the Pro model of the series.
Asus ROG Phone 6: Expected price and availability
The Asus ROG Phone 6 is expected to release initially for the European market and is likely to carry a price tag of €799 (roughly around Rs 65,900). However, rumours suggest that the device will also arrive in the Indian market after its global debut and is likely to be available on the e-tailer site Flipkart.

As per the report, the TENAA certifications have revealed that the upcoming smartphone will have the same dimensions as its predecessor but they will weigh less than the previous lineup. The Asus ROG Phone 6 is also expected to sport a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that will support a 165Hz refresh rate. Apart from some design tweaks and a new chipset, the upcoming series is likely to be very similar to its predecessor.
The TENAA certifications have also revealed that the upcoming handset will come powered by the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor coupled with 18GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. However, the report suggests that the device that was spotted on the Geekbench listing had 16GB of RAM and the series might also include a 12GB and an 8GB RAM version.
The Geekbench listing also reveals that the latest Adreno 730 GPU achieves 10% higher clock speeds than the original Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset to gain higher frame rates. Asus ROG Phone 6 produced a single-core score of 1316 and a multi-core score of 4199, confirms the report.
Moreover, the TENAA certification has also revealed that the upcoming handset is expected to house a triple-rear camera setup that will include — a 64MP primary camera with 5x optical zoom and OIS support, an ultra-wide lens and a macro sensor. The smartphone might also feature a 12MP front snapper for selfies and video calls.
Meanwhile, the 3C certification confirms that the Asus ROG Phone 6 will pack a dual-cell battery unit that will offer a total capacity of 6000mAh and will support 65W fast charging. The phone might ship with a charger, USB cable and a protective case at least in China, as per the report.
