Ather Energy working on a new affordable electric scooter, launch soon

Ather is also reportedly working on a new affordable electric scooter that could debut at Ather’s Community Day Event 2023. The new electric scooter is expected to use simpler components such as a tubular frame instead of an aluminium lattice frame that does duty on the Ather 450X and Ather 450 Plus. The new electric scooter could also use a 3.6kWh battery pack with an advanced cooling system. The new train will have a certified range of up to 146km according to a leaked report that was published by the Delhi Transport Department. Reports also suggest that Ather Energy could also rework the chassis geometry and also revise the dimensions of this new electric scooter. The scooter has also been spotted testing on public roads on some occasions last year. 

Ather 450X Gen 3 specifications

The Ather 450X Gen 3 was recently introduced in India and comes with an upgraded 3.7kWh battery. The battery pack is good for a real-world range of 108km and the 450X gets five ride modes – Warp, Sport, Ride, SmartEco, and Eco. The battery is paired to a motor that produces 8.7bhp of peak power in Warp mode. The vehicle also gets 7-inch touchscreen colour MID with 2GB of RAM. This system supports connected vehicle features, TPMS, navigation, etc. Ather has also made some practical upgrades to its design to aid usability. 

The Ather 450X Gen 3 bears a sticker price of Rs 1,55,657 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) however the prices vary depending upon the place of purchase. The 450X is the cheapest in Ahmedabad where it retails for Rs 1,37,612 (ex-showroom).
