Ring, ring! The Baby-Sitters Club season 2 is back in business. Netflix has set a release date for the continuation of the acclaimed adaptation of the beloved book series by Ann M. Martin. And the streamer dropped the first The Baby-Sitters Club season 2 photos featuring the cast.
The Baby-Sitters Club’s first installment got rave reviews for its positivity, sincerity and optimistic outlook. The series was a long time coming and much anticipated by fans and the 10 half-hour episodes did not disappoint. The first season gave the book storylines a modern update, but still stuck fairly closely to the adventures experienced by Kristy Thomas (Sophie Grace), Mary Anne Spier (Malia Baker), Claudia Kishi (Momona Tanada), Stacey McGill (Shay Rudolph) and Dawn Schafer (Xochitl Gomez).
The Baby-Sitters Club season 2 looks to do more of the same. Here’s everything we know so far.
Baby-Sitters Club season 2 release date
Netflix has set the The Baby-Sitters Club season 2 release date for Monday, October 11.
It will consist of eight episodes with about a half-hour runtime.

Baby-Sitters Club season 2 plot and episode storylines
Here’s the official Baby-Sitters Club season 2 synopsis from Netflix:”As demand for their club continues to grow, founders Kristy Thomas, Mary-Anne Spier, Claudia Kishi, Stacey McGill, and Dawn Schafer have now welcomed Mallory Pike and Jessi Ramsey to their ranks. With the new school year comes booming business, new relationships, personal journeys, and important lessons, but through it all the club is there for each other every step of the way.”
Series creator Rachel Shukert also said in a statement: “In Season 2, we really get to see a maturation of the club, and of the girls. There are two new members, they’re all a year older and have more experience running a business, deeper friendships and are growing into a deeper understanding of themselves as people. We also wanted to continue exploring themes that allow all young viewers to see themselves represented on screen, while also dealing obliquely with many of the things we’ve all been through in the past year: loss, change, responsibility, and trying to find joy and meaning in unexpected places. I’m so excited for everyone to be back in Stoneybrook and back in business!”
Season 1 was a fairly faithful adaptation of the first eight Baby-Sitters Club books. Episodes 9 and 10 formed a two-part finale that was somewhat based (but not that much) on the super special novel Baby-sitters’ Summer Vacation. The only similarities were that the BSC club members went to summer camp, became counselors-in-training and Stacey got poison ivy.
The Baby-Sitters Club season 2 plot could be taken from the books starting at number nine. Since this season is shorter, they may be based on the first six. However, the addition of Jessi as a junior sitter could indicate that the show jumps ahead in the book series.

Jessi’s Secret Language: Junior BSC member Jessi Ramsey takes care of a deaf boy.
If there’s another two-part finale, it could be based on a different super special — perhaps Baby-sitters’ Winter Vacation, which sees the BSC members going on a school trip to Vermont and getting snowed in.
