This year’s Black Friday event is on November 26, 2021, a day after Thanksgiving.
However, as always, we can expect many retailers to begin promoting the event days and even weeks prior to that date.
We might see Black Friday phone deals showing up earlier than the event itself, and we usually see remaining discounts offered well into the following weekend, so we can consider November 28th as the unofficial ending to the event.
When does Black Friday start at each retailer?
As previously mentioned, although Black Friday officially starts on November 26th, some stores will launch deals and discounts earlier than that, as they do every year.

What are the best Black Friday phone deals to expect this year?
The best Black Friday phone deals come from the likes of Amazon, Best Buy, Costco and Walmart. In addition, we also get great phone deals from wireless carriers – Verizon Black Friday deals, AT&T and T-Mobile Black Friday deals will make a return in 2021, particularly focused on smartphones.
Based on last year’s Black Friday phone deals, we can expect the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro to be up to $150 off on stores like Walmart and Best Buy. The iPhone 11 Pro was $350 off on Verizon, which made it one of the best discounts during the Black Friday sales.
So great Black Friday iPhone deals by carrier are to expected during the 2021 event as well, especially if you’re okay picking up a slightly older phone.
Samsung fans have plenty to be excited for as well. Last year the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was hugely discounted by 50% with trade in on the company’s website. Without eligible trade ins, you could pick up the same phone at Best Buy for a good deal too, $200 off – which could be even more this years Black Friday sales for older models.
A few days into last year’s Black Friday event the Galaxy S20+ saw great deals of up to $520 off at B&H Photo, while the S20 was $350 off. Those exact same models will certainly be getting massive discount during Black Friday 2021 too. Let’s wait and see what we get, including any possible trade in options as well. Keep an eye out for older models as well!
The Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra were both $300 off at Best Buy, so if you’re looking for a big phone with a stylus, you’ll likely have some great deals this year too.
If the Galaxy Note doesn’t tickle your fancy, and you prefer to stand out and be adventurous by trying out a new smartphone form factor, a great option – the Galaxy Z Fold 2 was at a massive $1000 discount last year. Black Friday 2021 will likely be the best time of the year to get a foldable phone like that, just like it was last year – but with more deals!
OnePlus is another big name involved in some of the best Black Friday phone deals. A great deal on the OnePlus 8 Pro was it for $200 off on Amazon, same on the OnePlus store. Huge discounts were also available for the OnePlus 8, which was discounted with $200 on OnePlus’ store, and even better – $230 off at B&H Photo. The OnePlus 8T was up to $200 off on Amazon last year too, making this already excellent and fairly priced smartphone an even more attractive one to get. Expect a similar discount during Black Friday 2021.
The Google Pixel 5 was just $50 off last year, but will likely see better discounts during the Black Friday 2021 event. The Pixel 4a 5G was a good $200 off for Google Fi subscribers, while the Pixel 4 XL had a solid $350 price drop, which was an incredible value. So it’s likely that all recent Pixel phones will see some great deals this year..
If you’re looking for the other type of folding phones, the one that resembles a flip phone, the stylish Motorola razr (2020) was significantly discounted with $450 at Best Buy. It’s one of several unique foldable phones and dual screen phones we’ll likely see get discounted during the 2021 Black Friday sale.
