Top dogs in the Indian smartphone industry recently announced a slew of enticing entry-level Android phones. We are, of course, talking about the Samsung Galaxy M12 and the Infinix Hot 11s, which go up against popular phones like the Realme C25Y and the Nokia C20 Plus. Seeing how the demand for these devices is at an all-time high, we decided to pit the phones against each other in a blind camera comparison. As always, we will present you with a slew of photos across different shooting conditions. 

The catch is that we will withhold the name of the phone and ask our readers to judge and vote for their preferred images. After some time has elapsed, we will present you with the results wherein, we will talk about the winners and the losers of this blind camera comparison. So, without any further ado, let the showdown commence!

HDR Off

If this isn’t your first rodeo with our blind camera comparisons, then you’ll know that we click images across seven different scenarios, including snaps taken with the device’s HDR mode enabled. In doing so, we are somewhat isolating a smartphone’s post-processing and gauging the prowess of the sensor alone. So, when casting your vote, be sure to look at the difference in the colours in the frame. We snapped the photo around noon with plenty of light to go by, so you should be able to make out whether a phone is oversaturating the hues, or not.

HDR On

The next set of photos have been shot with the HDR mode enabled. Consequently, you might notice that all four shots have better highlight control and exposure. Moreover, the devices might even expose shadows better. That said, there can be only one winner, so get voting!

Portrait mode

Portrait shots allow users to gauge a camera’s capabilities on a handful of different aspects. For one, users can look at the skin tone of the subject to see if their complexion has been reciprocated correctly. Furthermore, those with a keen eye for detail can also zoom into the subject’s face to see if the facial details have been rendered sharp or soft. Lastly, portrait shots also give an insight into how well a phone can blur out the background whilst keeping the subject in focus. With that said, here are the samples –

In today’s day and age, a smartphone’s selfie camera is often used more than its primary sensor. With that said, take a look at the samples below and vote for the one that fits your bill. With the daylight shots out of the way, it’s time to see how well our contenders perform after the sun has set. Starting off, let’s take a look at the lowlight images from their primary sensor. Do note that we disabled the night mode for this particular run. Consequently, you should get a fair idea of how well the cameras on these phones perform without using software smarts for crutch.

You’ll notice that we’ve attached only two photos below, the reason being that two of the four devices we are comparing today don’t ship with a dedicated night mode. For the uninitiated, using night mode betters a phone’s lowlight output and the resulting composition often has better details in the shadows and lesser noise.
