BSNL introduces new broadband plan: Details

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced a new Rs 499 broadband plan for its customers, according to a TelecomTalk report. The plan is named Fibre Basic and earlier this was used to cost Rs 449. However, the Rs 449 is still available for customers, just with a new Fibre Basic Neo name. Confusing right? Well, let us explain:
Same name, different plan and vice versa
In simple words, BSNL just retained the old name for a new plan. ThisThis means, the Rs 499 plan is new, it’s just the name borrowed from the previous plan. At the same time, the older Rs 449 plan which earlier to be the Fibre Basic plan, is still available with the Fibre Basic Neo name and also offers the same benefits.

The Rs 499 broadband plan offers 40Mbps speed with up to 3300GB of high-speed data. Post that the speed reduces to 4Mbps with unlimited data. In addition to this, customers also get unlimited calling. According to the report, BSNL also is also offering its customers a discount of Rs 500 on the first month’s bill.

As mentioned, the Rs 449 broadband plan offers the same benefits as before. It offers 30MBps speed with up to 3300GB of data. Post that the speed reduces to 4Mbps with unlimited data. Buyers also get unlimited calling with the plan. According to the report, BSNL is also offering its customers a discount of Rs 500 on the first month’s bill.
Meanwhile, BSNL is also expected to discontinue some of its broadband plans which include Rs 775 and Rs 275 plans. The plans are expected to get discontinued by November 15.
