BSNL to discontinue these broadband plans soon: Details and alternative plans the company offers

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will remove one of its limited-time broadband plans starting November 15. TelecomTalk has reported that the state-owned telecom service provider will discontinue the Rs 775 broadband plan which was introduced as part of the 75th Independence Day celebrations.
The plan, aptly named ‘Freedom 75-Fibre Super Star Premium Plus’, offers unlimited calling along with 2000GB of limited internet data. The plan offers 150Mbps speed till the data limit. Post that the speed reduces to 10Mbps with unlimited data. Apart from that, the plan also offers OTT benefits such as a subscription to Disney+ Hotstar, Lionsgate, Shemaroo, Hungama, SonyLIV, ZEE5, Voot and Yupp TV.
Apart from that, the company is also planning to discontinue two other broadband plans — Freedom 75-Fibre Basic Plus and Freedom 75-Fibre Basic. Both the plans, as per the report, cost Rs 275 and were also introduced as the Independence Day offer.
The Basic Plus plan comes with 60Mbps speed with up to 3300GB of data and 4Mbps post the data limit. It offers unlimited calling as well. Also, this is a base plan for 75 days post that, the plan automatically switches to the FIBRE BASIC PlUS FMC 599 monthly plan.
The Basic plan offers almost similar benefits, except the speed is capped at 30Mbps and it switches to FIBRE BASIC FMC 449 monthly plan.
Alternative plans
If benefit-wise plans you are looking for, then the only option available is the Rs 999 plan which offers almost similar benefits such as 150Mbps speed, unlimited calling and OTT benefits. However, if you are looking for similarly priced plans, then BSNL currently offers Rs 749 plan and Rs 799 plan which offers 100Mbps speed, unlimited calling and OTT benefits. The only difference between the two is that the Rs 799 plan offers 10Mbps speed after the data limit is exhausted, while the Rs 749 plan offers 5Mbps.
