BYD Atto 3 compact electric SUV launched in India: pre-bookings, specifications, price
The Atto 3 claims to deliver 521km of range from its 60.48kWh battery pack. It is compatible with an 80kW fast charger and can juice up from 0 to 80 percent in 50 minutes.

The BYD Atto 3 EV SUV has been launched in India after much build-up and comes off as a promising product. The Atto 3 looks contemporary and packs in the latest tech gizmos on offer. Powertrain wise the vehicle promises substantial range and performance, making it an attractive option on the higher side of the Rs 25 lakh mark.
The BYD Atto 3 adopts a cohesive styling with a well-proportioneed stance. It gets a sizeable 2,720mm wheelbase and 4,445mm length making it longer than both the Kona EV and the ZS EV. The Atto 3 also retains a healthy 440litres of boot space. The front fascia in true EV fashion is devoid of a grille and gets LED lighting and stylised air damns. The rear has a minimalistic design with an LED lightbar taillight serving as the primary highlight. The profile is flanked by clean lines and garnished with a set of 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and a silver applique on the C pillar.
The interiors are rather radically styled dashboard design and funky-looking AC vent and door speaker/handle design. The sense of occasion is boosted by the presence of a lot of tech kit that includes all LED lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, a wireless phone charger, a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, synthetic leather upholstery, powered front driver and passenger seats and multi-coloured ambient lighting. The highlight however is the floating 12.8-inch central infotainment display that automatically rotates to allow portrait as well as landscape style.
The BYD Atto 3 also gets safety equipment that includes a 360-degree camera, ABS, ESC, traction control, hill descent control, and 7 airbags. It also gets an ADAS suite that includes automatic emergency braking, blindspot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control and front and rear collision warning.
The Indian Atto 3 model gets a bigger 60.48kWh battery pack and claims to deliver 521km of range. The Atto 3 gets a front PMSE motor that boasts 201bhp of peak power and 310Nm of peak torque. This allows the SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 in just 7.3 seconds. The Atto 3 is compatible with an 80kW fast charger that charges the car from 0 to 80 percent in just 50 minutes. The Atto 3 will take about 10 odd hours to charge via a Type 2 AC charger. BYD will also provide a 7kW AC home charger along with a 3kW AC portable charging box to buyers.
BYD will be offering 3 years of 4G data connection, 6 years of RSA, and 6 free maintenance services as part of a promotional package. The Atto 3 will also bring along a standard warranty of 6 years/1,50,000km along with an 8 years/1,60,000 warranty on the battery pack. The Atto 3 will be available via dealerships that Landmark Cars will be setting up soon with the first ones coming up in Delhi, Mumbai and South Indian cities.
The exact pricing of the BYD Atto 3 is yet to be announced.
