calendar: Google Calendar update makes account and event management easier for users – Times of India

Google has added a couple of new features to its Calendar app for users to easily manage invites and manage multiple accounts. The major highlight though is the new ‘Automatic Add invitation’ setting that allows users to have better control over invitations they receive.
The company has announced these new features via an official blog post and according to the blog the Automatically add invitation setting will help users prevent unwanted invitations from being added to their calendar and
Google Calendar will now give users the option to add the invitations to their calendar they’ve RSVPd to. The Calendar app with this update will offer users two options to choose from — Always have invitations automatically added and Only have them automatically added if you have RSVP’d in the email event invitation.
Google has also moved the notification option into the Notifications section to help users better manage, when they want to get notified about an invitation.
Under this, users will now have the option to receive notifications only if they have responded to an invitation with ‘yes’ or ‘maybe’.
Apart from that, Google has also added a profile thumbnail at the top of the app similar to other Google apps. This allows users to easily see which account calendar they are currently interacting with. The new profile thumbnail will also allow users to easily switch between multiple accounts.
The feature is currently rolling out for all Google Account users including Personal and it’s a Rapid rollout which will take around 15 days to reach to users.
