The Witcher Remake: More details
CD Projekt Red has announced the final release date of the upcoming Witcher title — The Witcher Remake. The game is still in its early development stage and the first footage might release after a while.
The Witcher Remake is being developed by a third-party studio named Fool’s Theory and the game’s creation also includes assistance from former CDPR members who also are The Witcher veterans. CD Projekt Red will also offer full creative supervision over the upcoming remake.
The upcoming game will have the same protagonist and storyline but will be rebuilt from the scratch using Unreal Engine 5. This game engine is developed by Fortnite creators Epic Games.
On the official announcement, CD Projekt Red’s Head of Studio Adam Badowski said: “The Witcher is where it all started for us, for CD Projekt Red. It was the first game we made, ever, and it was a big moment for us then.” Badowski has not only praised the crew working on The Witcher Remake but has also reassured fans that the team “know the source material well.”
The Witcher 2 was released on PC and Xbox 360, and the company didn’t mention if this game will get a remake in the upcoming days. It is important to note that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the most popular game in the entire series.
