CES 2023: Intel launches 13th Gen processors for laptops, including one with 24-core CPU

Intel has announced its 13th Gen mobile processors lineup just ahead of CES 2023. The company introduced 32 new 13th Gen Intel Core mobile processors, which also include the first 24-core processor for a laptop. The processors are launched in Intel Core H series, P-series, and U-series.
“The 13th Gen Intel Core mobile processor family delivers unrivalled, scalable performance for leadership platforms across all laptop segments. With our industry-leading technologies and unmatched global partner ecosystem, people can expect a high-calibre mobile experience in new and unique form factors – so they can game or create from anywhere,” said Michelle Johnston Holthaus, executive vice president and general manager of the Client Computing Group at Intel.

13th Gen Intel Core H-series processors
Intel H-series processors are for gaming laptops and machines designed for content creators. The 13th Gen Intel Core H-series mobile processors include the first 24-core processor for a laptop. The company says that the processor offers support for both DDR4 and DDR5 memory, PCIe Gen 5 and a multitude of connectivity options.
13th Gen Intel Core P-series, U-series processors
Intel also introduced 13th Gen Intel Core P-series and U-series mobile processors for high-performance laptops with thin profiles.
They offer up to 14-core architecture (6 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores) and enhanced Intel Thread Director. There are new Intel Iris Xe graphics features including endurance gaming, XeSS Super Sampling and Intel Arc Control. Just like the H-series CPU, these processors also offer support for DDR5 and DDR4 and LP variants.
For connectivity, the processor offers support for Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) and new wireless features like Intel Connectivity Performance Suite, Intel Wi-Fi Proximity Sensing and Intel Bluetooth LE Audio.

Intel also announced the new Intel Evo laptop specification that is claimed to offer consistent responsiveness while unplugged, longer battery life, instant wake and fast charge. The experiences also include video conferencing that can leverage technologies like Intel Connectivity Performance Suite and Intel Bluetooth LE Audio.
Intel N-series processors
Intel also launched N-series processors for entry-level computing. The series include Intel Core i3 in the N-series family of products, which are said to be “purpose-built for the education segment, entry-level computing and IoT edge native applications.”
