CES 2023: Samsung unveils Odyssey Neo G9, Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitors – Times of India

Samsung has unveiled two new monitors in the Odyssey series – the Neo G9 and OLED G9 – at Consumer Electronics Show or CES 2023. The company says that the Odyssey Neo 9 is the first single monitor with dual ultra-high definition resolution, revolutionising the ultra-wide display category.

Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 features a 7,680×2,160 pixels resolution panel, having a 32:9 aspect ratio, promising to offer ‘new levels of detail’ with an ‘unparalleled field of view.’
The 1000R 57-inch curved screen of the Odyssey Neo G9 uses quantum mini LED technology. The monitor comes with VESA Display HDR 1000 certification enabling it to deliver superior imaging in a gaming environment, whether it is bright scenes or shadow. The monitor has a matte display which reduces the reflection, minimising distractions. Further, the Neo G9 comes with support for a 240Hz refresh rate.
The Odyssey Neo G9 comes with DisplayPort 2.1, which offers twice the fast transfer speed compared to the DisplayPort 1.4, and also supports Display Stream Compression.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 features a 49-inch dual quad-HD 1800R curved display having a 32:9 aspect ratio. The OLED panel uses quantum dot technology, where OLED lighting is controlled pixel-by-pixel, offering a near-infinite colour contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 while also delivering true RGC and true black. The monitor offers a 0.1ms response time and 240Hz refresh rate.
The Odyssey OLED G9 comes with pre-installed apps such as Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube, and more. Further, it also has Samsung Gaming Hub installed, which allows gamers to play cloud games from Xbox and Nvidia GeForce.
