Checking Google Play Store update becomes easier, here’s how

Tech giant Google is adding a new, more prominent way for Android users to check updates for the Play Store. As per a report by 9to5Google, the feature is rolling to Android phone users via a server-side update. It is available under Play Store > Settings > About. When a user scrolls down to the bottom display in About section, he/she will see the “Update Play Store” button in green text.
The current method offered by Google to check for updates is tapping on the Store’s version number. However, it is not very intuitive and most users aren’t aware it existed.
The new button makes the way to check for Google Play Store updates more prominent and visually easier. As per the report, the new method is currently available for Google Pixel 6 Pro users only. It is expected to be rolled out to other Android smartphones in the near future. Also, the feature is said to work with handsets running Android 10 operating system as well.
Meanwhile, Google has started rolling out the Locked Folder feature for Photos for more Android users. First announced at the Google I/O event held in June this year, the feature allows users to hide selected photos and videos from the app’s main grid search.
A user can open these ‘lock’ photos/videos in a separate password protected space. When inside this secure space, users will not be able to take screenshots as well. Users can perform only two actions for such photos.
