Chip shortage may cause Samsung to delay Galaxy S21FE launch – Times of India

The ongoing global chip shortage is turning out to be problematic for many brands including South korean tech giant Samsung. Samsung may reportedly take more time to launch the Galaxy S21FE smartphone. As per a report by SamMobile, the Galaxy S21FE launch is now delayed to the last quarter of 2021. Samsung had earlier announced that it would not be launching the Galaxy Note 21 this year due to chip shortage.
While the Galaxy Note 21 will not launch in 2021, Samsung is confident to launch the Galaxy S21 FE this, even if it gets delayed. The Galaxy S21 FE is an important mid-range flagship for the company which can help Samsung grab quick market share. The FE series of phones are usually a stripped down variant of the flagship device but core features like premium chipsets, camera and other software features are retained.
The Galaxy S21 FE was previously speculated to launch in August. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is said to sport a 6.4-inch AMOLED display. The display is also expected to house a 32MP punch-hole selfie camera.
The smartphone is expected to be either powered by Exynos 2100 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. The handset is said to be backed by a 4,500 mAh battery.
Samsung had recently launched the 5G version of the Galaxy S20FE powered by the Snapdragon 865 chipset rather than Samsung’s own Exynos.
