TL;DR
- The Chromecast with Google TV has arrived in India.
- It retails for Rs 6,399 and is available now via Flipkart.
Google launched its $50 Chromecast with Google TV in 2020, making for a rather compelling and cheap streaming solution in Australia, Europe, and the US. Unfortunately, the device didn’t land in India at the time, but that’s finally changing today.
Google announced that the Chromecast with Google TV is available in India today via Flipkart, starting at Rs 6,399 (~$80.48). The search colossus adds that the streaming gadget will be “coming soon” to other retailers.
The new streaming gadget offers 4K HDR playback, Dolby Vision support, and the Google TV platform for improved recommendations, multiple profiles, and watchlist support. The latter platform also means you’ve got access to loads of apps.

The device does however make its budget trappings known when it comes to storage, offering just 8GB of space for you to play with. Furthermore, the device is ~$30 more expensive in India. So those who want more storage or a cheaper price should look at other streaming TV boxes on the market.
Nevertheless, former Android Authority reviewer David Imel felt that it was “easily” one of the best Android TV gadgets on the market at its original $50 price tag. In other words, everyone else should still consider this device if they need a streaming box.
