Chuwi CoreBook XPro is a mainstream notebook with aluminum alloy chassis, Intel Coffee Lake processor and 15.6-inch high-resolution display. It will be on offer for a few days at 469 euros.
Larger than the CoreBook Pro but with the same hardware platform as the CoreBook X, the new Chuwi CoreBook XPro is finally available for purchase in the company’s official store. It is sold at a price of $ 599 but – until August 31 – thanks to the Back to School 2021 promotion it will be possible to order it for $ 50 less, paying only $ 549 (or 469 euros) with a computer bag as a gift and free shipping from European warehouses.

CoreBook XPro is built with a metal frame, just 17mm thick and light 1.78Kg. It sports a simple and elegant design, which adapts easily to the modern life of the student as well as the professional, embellished with diamond-cut edges and a satin finish that does not retain fingerprints.

It integrates a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display in 16: 9 with ultra-slim bezels of just 6 millimeters, which improve the screen-to-body ratio and make the entertainment experience more immersive. Despite everything, however, the company has managed to insert a camera for video calls in the upper edge, equipped with multiple microphones to reduce background noise in group conversations. Also interesting is the choice of adding a mechanical switch on the edge, to “close” the camera when it is not in use.

Under the hood, on the other hand, there is a quad-core Intel Core i5-8259U processor (8 threads) up to 3.8GHz frequency in Turbo Boost with 28W TDP and Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 graphics, which obtains excellent results in the benchmarks and in general performance. The hardware platform is then completed by 8GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM and 512GB of NVMe SSD storage (expandable with a free M.2 slot), which together make the notebook more responsive.

According to what was communicated by the company and confirmed by its internal tests, the new laptop does not show any lag in the playback of 4K video, with fluid images and full audio. Even in gaming, the CoreBook XPro proves its qualities, with smooth playability in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at 75 fps (and higher) and an efficient cooling system.

Chuwi CoreBook XPro is equipped with a 70Wh battery, which should ensure up to 6.5 hours of intense use (brightness at 80%) and up to 8 hours of basic office activities. On board there are two 1.5W stereo speakers, a backlit keyboard with 16×16 mm keys and numeric keypad, a large touchpad and a rich set of interfaces that includes two USB 3.0, one USB Type-C, one USB 2.0, one HDMI, a Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45), a microSD card slot and a 3.5 mm audio jack as well as WiFi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.2. Obviously the pre-installed operating system is Windows 10, but Chuwi assures that the notebook will also be compatible with Windows 11 (when it becomes available).
