Coros just announced the Vertix 2, a GPS watch with 60 days of battery life
TL;DR
- Coros has officially announced its new GPS watch, the Coros Vertix 2.
- The new watch comes with three GPS modes and a dual-frequency chipset.
- Expect to pay $699.99, €699.99, or £599.99 in the US, Europe, or the UK.
Coros, the official watch sponsor of marathon king Eliud Kipchoge and steeplechase queen Emma Coburn, is back with a new GPS watch. The Vertix 2 marks the first new Coros watch since the lightweight and affordable Pace 2, and it offers a far different experience.
We can’t say for sure, but the team at Coros may have been listening to some classic Daft Punk during the design process. The new Vertix 2 looks poised to go harder, better, faster, and stronger than the original, and that’s saying something.
For starters, the new watch is tapped to offer a new dual-frequency GNSS chipset. This should allow the Vertix 2 to handle even more diverse environments from forests to caves with three unique GPS modes. The added frequency should help to combat thick tree coverage and steep walls.
The Vertix 2 offers Coros’ best battery life and largest display ever.
Those of you hoping to download maps for long hikes and trail runs can choose between Landscape, Topographic, and Hybrid versions. You’ll also be able to see your maps better than ever with the new 1.4-inch touchscreen — the largest on any Coros watch.
Coros has long prioritized battery life, and the Vertix 2 boasts 60 days of juice outside of GPS mode. You can also tap into 140 hours of GPS tracking or 35 hours of combined GPS and music playback. The watch offers a solid 32GB of storage, which should be more than enough for your favorite songs and podcasts.
Coros recently launched new EvoLab software, which offers more ways to track your fitness than ever before. You can assess ECG tests and heart rate variability on the Vertix 2 to get closer to an optimal training plan.
As an adventure watch, the Coros Vertix 2 is built to last in harsh conditions. It packs a sapphire glass display with a titanium alloy body and water resistance up to 10ATM.
The Coros Vertix 2 will cost $699.99 in the US. It will set you back €699.99 or £599.99 in Europe or the UK, respectively.
