Could it be a formidable flagship foldable?

The first two Motorola Razr foldables crammed middling hardware into an expensive, niche form factor. However, it seems that the company might take the third version more seriously.

According to XDA-Developers, citing unnamed sources, the Motorola Razr 3 could be a more serious flagship prospect rivaling other clamshell foldables like the Honor Magic V and the next Galaxy Z Flip.

Per the report, the device could land with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, in line with the current crop of flagships. Ultra-wideband (UWB) support, up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, a secondary display, and NFC support may also be on the cards. It’s believed that a 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED could star as the main display.

The leak lacks plenty of additional details, including battery and camera specs, but if Motorola is considering sweeping internal hardware upgrades, expect something similar here too.

When could we see the Razr 3? Well, that remains unclear. We may still be months off its official debut. The first Razr launched in November 2019 and the second in September 2020. We’d imagine the third device could follow a similar timeframe. But, given the potential buffs to its loadout, will the Motorola Razr 3 arrive with an even higher price than its predecessor? Let’s hope not.
