Lewis has claimed that his sources have confirmed the next Counter-Strike game, which is set to release really soon. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive sequel has apparently been in development for quite some time and it will most likely launch under the working title, Counter-Strike 2. The game’s beta is expected to launch later this month or on April 1st. Counter-Strike 2 is said to be a priority for Valve, which explains why some of the issues with CS: GO have been ignored for some time. Lewis’ sources say, “The big priority is getting this out and then polishing it, fixing any bugs and bringing it up to the level people expect from CS.”

Counter-Strike 2 is expected to be built on the Source 2 engine to offer better optimization and graphics for the game. This will most likely affect performance for players who have low-end PCs, which is quite the opposite of previous titles that can run very well on low-end machines as well. The official Counter-Strike 2 servers would be 128 tick, bringing the game in line with Valorant servers. Besides these, the game is also said to use a much better match-making system that will be introduced months after launch. The Counter-Strike 2 beta will most likely launch with the same matchmaking system as that of CS: GO. Counter-Strike 2 has apparently been ready to launch for quite some time and it has also been tested by pro players in secret at Valve headquarters in Seattle. That being said, since none of these details have been confirmed by Valve yet, they should be taken with a grain of salt.
