dark souls: Dark Souls players, here is some good news from the developers – Times of India

At the beginning of 2022, A dangerous security vulnerability in Dark Souls 3 compelled publisher Bandai Namco to suspend PvP servers for all Dark Souls games on PC. Initially, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware announced that the servers would be kept offline until after the release of Elden Ring. However, it has been three months since Elden Ring’s release and there has been some development on Dark Souls multiplayer on PC.
FromSoftware has now officially confirmed that it is bringing back the online servers for the PC version of Dark Souls, according to a report by PCGamer.
The report says that the developers have finally decided to bring back the online PC servers of Dark Souls. The confirmation comes after months of rumours and speculations of incoming fixes. As per the report, a Bandai Namco support representative has said that help is on the way and now they finally have it directly from the source.
The developers reportedly mentioned that they are currently in the process of restoring the online servers for the Dark Souls series on PC and that it will be done with “each game progressively”. They also promised to bring back servers for Dark Souls 3 once they have done the needful to fix the issue.
As per the report, FromSoftware has also assured to offer additional updates immediately after the restoration schedule is finalised. The developers also thanked all players for their patience and understanding.
Dark Souls PC server restoration: When is it happening?
FromSoftware has not provided any specific timeline for the issues to be fixed, says the report. The report also suggests that the developers’ statement about bringing back “each game progressively” might sound a bit confusing. The restoration process is likely to be done in the order of each game’s release (Dark Souls 1,2 and 3). However, the mention of Dark Souls 3 specifically also indicates that this game might be the first one to be restored as it has been the most popular amongst the three.
