Did you buy a Pixel 6 at launch? Google has some good and bad news for you

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are arguably the most exciting handsets Google has ever launched – thanks to the first-of-its kind custom made Tensor chip, which offers huge AI and machine learning benefits, plus its distinct and stylish design. But if that wasn’t reason enough for you to rush out and buy a Pixel 6 when the handset first launched Google offered an incredible deal – throwing in a free pair of Bose 700 headphones worth £349. This offer was only briefly available on orders placed before October 29.

If you did manage to sneak in a Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro order before the cut-off date for the Bose offer, there is something you should know though.

As reported by 9to5Google, those eligible for this promotion may be getting a different pair of Bose headphones entirely.

That’s because Google has run out of stock of the Bose 700 headphones – at least in certain areas of Europe.

Instead, some eligible customers will receive a pair of Bose QC45 headphones as well as €75 Google Store voucher.

Some customers that have tried to redeem their free Bose 700 headphones have received this message on the Google website: “We have news. Due to their high popularity, the Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 (worth €399.95) are currently not available […] being replaced by an incredible limited-edition bundle that includes a pair of the latest Bose QuietComfort 45 headphones in black valued at €349.95 and includes a Google Store voucher worth €75! A total gift value of €424.95!

“We apologise for the inconvenience.”

SAVE HUNDREDS ON GOOGLE PIXEL 6

It’s unclear whether this affects all of those eligible for the Pixel 6 promo in Europe who haven’t already claimed their free pair of Bose 700 headphones, or just select regions.

While this may be disappointing news to some, Google are doing their best to make up for this.

The difference in price between the Bose 700 and Bose QuietComfort 45 headphones is €50, so the €75 voucher will give affected customers a little bit extra store credit to make up for the change in the promotion.

And anyone that receives the Bose QuietComfort 45 headphones will still be receiving a great pair of cans for free, which come with features like full noise cancellation, 24 hour battery life on a single charge and the brilliant Bose sound quality the brand is know for.

If you missed out on this offer then don’t panic. Another deal is available right now which includes a saving of over £200 and a free Stadia Premiere Edition.
