Digi Yatra service: How to register
A passenger must register their information on the Digi Yatra app using Aadhaar-based validation and a self image capture in order to use the service. A Digi Yatra ID will be created after enrolling in the service. Here’s how you can register for the Digi Yatra service via its mobile app:
Download the Digi Yatra app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store on your Android or iOS smartphone, respectively.- Tap on the “Get Started” button.
- Enter your mobile phone number.
- Hit the Register button.
- After that, validate your phone number by entering the
OTP you received. - Then, tap on the “Wallet” option available at the bottom of your screen.
- Tap on the Identity credential option.
- Agree to the terms and conditions, and hit the OK button. You can also use your
DigiLocker account to upload your identity documents. - Once uploaded, your Digi Yatra ID will be generated.
Digi Yatra service: How to use at airports
The traveller will be able to quote the Digi Yatra ID while booking the ticket. The airlines will send the airport the passenger’s information, including their Digi Yatra ID. Here’s how it will work at the airport:
- The passenger will need to present the ticket or boarding pass (both digital and physical will work) when it is required at the entry point.
- The e-ticket or boarding pass will be scanned.
- The system will verify the passenger information and flight information after scanning the barcode or QR code.
- Then, Digi Yatra ID will use face recognition to confirm the identity.
- The e-gate will open after the ticket and Digi Yatra ID have been successfully verified.
- As soon as you enter the airport, your Face ID and ticket
PNR are combined into a single token that will be used for the duration of your stay there. - Passengers will be able to enter the security area and board the aircraft using an e-gate that uses facial recognition technology.
