Don’t worry about this service deactivation SMS from Airtel – Times of India

Some Airtel subscribers were surprised to see an SMS from Airtel which said that their outgoing services have been discontinued and that they need to recharge to continue getting calls on their Airtel phone number. After some subscribers took to Twitter to ask Airtel about the message, Airtel responded by saying that due to some technical glitch some subscribers may have got deactivation messages.
The SMS from Airtel said “Your outgoing services have been discontinued. To continue, Click airtel.in/prepaid-recharge or dial *121*51#.” If you have got any SMS like this from Airtel, note that it is due to a technical error and you can safely ignore the SMS.
“Due to a technical error at our end you may have received a wrong SMS regarding deactivation of services. Please ignore the same. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused,” Airtel responded to a subscriber on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Airtel recently revised its prepaid plans and the prepaid packs will now start from Rs 79 Smart Recharge. Airtel has discontinued its Rs 49 entry level Prepaid recharge. As per the company, the Airtel Prepaid Smart Recharge of Rs 79 will offer up to four times more outgoing minutes of usage to customers along with double data. Airtel Prepaid Smart Recharge of Rs 79 offers talktime work Rs 64, 200MB data and 28 days validity. The revision in the plan is effective from Juny 29.
Airtel rivals Reliance Jio and Vodafone still have their cheapest Prepaid plans priced under Rs 50. Reliance Jio’s cheapest plan is Rs 39, the plan is exclusively for JioPhone users.
