Dyson confirms to launch 20 new products globally in next four years – Times of India
Dyson is known for its wide range of products across categories. The company entered the hair care segment in the year 2016 with the launch of its first Supersonic hair dryer. The hair care products of the company works on the powerful airflow technology which could be achieved if air was taken into a motor and accelerated over an annular aperture. The company also claims that its Dyson digital motor V9 is a motor which is up to eight times faster than conventional hair dryer motors which makes its products more powerful and user friendly.
Recently, in an exclusive interview with The Times of India-Gadgets Now, Dyson engineer Chidambersan Krishnaswami revealed that the new Dyson Airwap multi-styler is designed to style your hair with the same airflow technology. Krishnaswamy also added that the device will also protect any further damage to the hairs.
Further highlighting the future plans of the company, Krishnaswamy also told Gadgets Now, “Dyson is working on introducing 20 new products globally in the next four years. He also mentioned that the company develops its products after in-depth research and rigorous testing to make sure that users get the best of products.” Dyson also announced that it has committed half a billion GBP to expand and accelerate its research and technology development across its beauty portfolio.
Dyson hair research study
Alongside this investment, Dyson also releases the results of its most comprehensive hair research study. This research investigates hair health, hair perceptions, habits, and attitudes towards hair styling across 23 markets and 23,000 people.
The study reveals that 7 in 10 respondents say their hair is damaged, with dandruff, hair loss and greying hair as top concerns. However, these are not damage concerns. 67% of all respondents also agree their hair is healthy, despite it being damaged.
“Dandruff, hair loss and greying hair are not forms of damage, but scalp and hair growth concerns. Hair damage refers to the breakdown of the hair cuticle and cortex, which can lead to your hair looking frizzy, dull, or snapping off. The best way to achieve healthy hair is through prevention and minimising exposure to causes of damage. This includes extreme heat which makes hair weaker and more susceptible to breakage and split ends.” Rob Smith, Dyson Senior Principal Hair Scientist.
The company claims that these findings will enable the engineers at Dyson to to gain a deeper understanding of real-world styling frustrations and develop their new products accordingly.
