Easy to use

Ever since the pandemic hit, all of us have had some kind of experience in the house cleaning department. As more and more people are getting tech-savvy, the idea of owning a powerful, easy to use device that can make you move away from the typical Indian households’ broom-and-mop regimen sounds exciting. That’s when the Dyson Omni-glide — quite literally — glides in.

At Rs 34,900, the device is one of the most affordable offerings from the premium brand Dyson, which is considered to be a benchmark for vacuum cleaners globally. The Omni-glide is much more affordable than the flagship product V11 Absolute Pro and also more compact and manoeuvrable. We spent some time with the Dyson Omni-glide and here is our review:

Design
The Dyson Omni-glide looks quite fancy for a vacuum cleaner and certainly exudes premiumness. Attaching the pieces one by one is a very smooth process and you may get the feel of creating some cool machinery in the process of doing so.

The Omni-glide vacuum cleaner has a Dyson Hyperdymium motor that has eight ‘Cyclones’, and spins at up to 1,05,000rpm to generate suction.

The Dyson Omni-glide comes with a handful of accessories — omnidirectional soft roller cleaner head, a mini motorised tool, a combination tool and a worktop tool — that require some experimentation before you figure out which is best suited for which cleaning needs. Ideally, the omnidirectional head and mini motorised tool are meant for cleaning hard, dry floors while other tools are meant to get tough corners like in small spaces such as cars or high AC vents.

Besides these, you also get a dock that can be used to make it mount on the wall so it doesn’t feel like clutter and storing it is also not a hassle. You also get a charger in the box which is again easy to use.

Performance
The Dyson Omni-glide is quite powerful and delivers what it promises. It is effective in picking up everything from large debris to fine particles and leaves the place mighty neat. The omnidirectional soft roller cleaner head, which is the key accessory, moves around super effortlessly and even sweeps in hard-to-reach spaces.

Although meant only for hard floors, the Omni-glide was also able to work and collect satisfactory jobs on rugs as well.

You will be able to see all the dirt that is being collected in a transparent part. It can be easily opened and emptied by a simple push-button ejection mechanism.

On a single charge, you get 20 minutes of life in this beast at the normal power setting, and about 10 minutes at the max setting, which may seem less if you have a big area to cover, but for a standard 2 BHK house setup, this should be okay. Using the Omni-glide is additionally quite easy as it is a cord-free device.

Verdict
The Omni-glide does what it promises in terms of being a one-stop solution for cleaning up the hard floors of small houses, making it more fun than what has been a boring chore since forever.

Overall, we found that there is certainly a learning curve on getting the hang of how to use it the best possible way. However, that can be overcome in no time by everyone across ages.
