Dyson Zone headphones come with air purifier: Price, India launch and more – Times of India

Dyson Zone headphones which double up as an air purifier are now official. Unveiled earlier this year, the headphones will start selling in multiple markets in the Southeast Asia region, Dyson has announced. The headphones come with advanced noise cancellation and are claimed to offer up to 50 hours of battery life on a single charge.
Dyson Zone headphones price, availability
Dyson Zone price has been set at $949 (approximately Rs 78,000) in the US. Dyson Zone noise-cancelling headphones with air purification will go on sale from January in China and March in the US, UK, Hong Kong SAR and Singapore. The headphones may make their debut in India sometime in the first quarter of 2023.
Dyson Zone headphones’ audio features
The Dyson Zone headphones are claimed to provide up to 50 hours of battery life when used only for listening. If you use the headphones with on-the-go air purification, they are claimed to deliver up to 4 hours of run time. Dyson claims that the headphones can be charged to 100% in 3 hours, via a USB-C charging port.
Dyson says that the headphones provide “ultra-low distortion, advanced noise cancellation and full-spectrum audio reproduction.”
It says that the company engineers have designed the 40mm neodymium speaker drivers, mechanical system, materials and acoustics to minimise distortion. The driver output is further equalised by intelligent signal processing 48,000 times a second.
Dyson says its engineers used a scientific approach to create a unique EQ setting for a high-fidelity audio experience. It also features 11 microphones and its noise cancellation feature uses eight microphones which monitor surrounding noise 384,000 times a second.

Dyson Zone air purifier features
The air purifier in Dyson Zone headphones is claimed to capture 99% of particle pollution as small as 0.1 microns and its potassium-enriched carbon filter, K-Carbon, is claimed to block acidic gases, such as NO2 and SO2, that are associated with city pollution.
The filters in Dyson Zone will last up to 12 months, depending on geographical location, the company says.
Dyson Zone app
The Dyson Zone headphones come equipped with a sensor that monitors the air for NO2 levels. The levels can be tracked live via the MyDyson app, alongside real-time environmental noise levels. Similar to Dyson in-home purifiers, Dyson Zone provides actionable information about the user’s environment.
There is also an accelerometer that monitors the user’s activity and adjusts the purified airflow appropriately when in auto mode. There is also a head detection feature that puts the device’s headphones into standby mode when they are not being worn. When you slide the detachable visor, it activates conversation mode, stops purification and pauses the music.
The MyDyson app can also be used to control the Dyson Zone audio, adjust airflow speed and noise cancellation. Users can also choose from three EQ modes: Dyson EQ (enhanced), Bass Boost (bassy) and Neutral (flatter response curve).
